STAR Employee: Scott Sailors

This employee is someone who illuminates all the S.T.A.R. Qualities. You can find him smiling and making others laugh at our Athens Lumber Yard. He is also someone with an immense amount of knowledge in this industry and is always willing to teach others. His work ethic is ALL IN by giving 100% to the company and our customers, and he follows the Royal Law by treating others the way you want to be treated. We are proud to announce that our 2023 STAR Employee of the month is Scott Sailors.

Scott has a cumulative time of 23 years working for Harbin Lumber Company.

Prior to his time with Harbin, he worked for Williams Brothers Millwork for an additional 8 ½ years.  Working in this industry His knowledge alone is indispensable, by always working proficiently to best serve our customers.  Within the company, he has worked in several positions, from Outside Sales, Inside Sales Coordinator and presently the Millwork specialist at our Athens Lumber Yard.

Being a Millwork specialist, Scott works hands on with our customers and staff to make sure that every order is provided and produced to exceptional quality to best meet the needs of every order. With a vast knowledge of the products available, Scott is able to direct the OSS and customers on which doors or windows would best fit their specific job. We are so thankful to have Scott as a part of our Harbin Lumber family. He is always willing to put in the hard work, even when it Is not easy, we can trust that Scott is going to do everything in his power to take care of business. Todd Lord, the General Manager of the Athens Lumber Yard says, “Scott Sailors’ name is synonymous with millwork knowledge and the building supply industry in the Athens area.  His expertise in this area began with his father, Daniel Sailors, who worked in the industry as well for many years and Scott started out working with him.  Scott is a trusted professional who many of Harbin Lumber Company’s customers rely on to help with quoting and ordering Windows, Exterior & Interior Doors, Stair Parts, Mouldings, and other materials.  His knowledge and ability has helped many of our professional builders and homeowners realize their dream of a beautiful new home.”

When Scott is not at work, he enjoys going hunting, fishing, or traveling to the North Georgia Mountains. He is happily married with 4 children (2 boys and 2 girls) and now 4 Grandchildren (3 boys and 1 girl).  He also has 2 dogs, Lisa (Silver Lab) and Reggie (Small Yorkie).

As the final remarks, Scott would like to encourage any person to treasure the present, the past and the future with your family. We are not promised our next breath, so every moment is special.
