Giving back to the communities our locations are a part of has been a core aspect our values for many years now. Our most recent opportunity was for The Marcus “Trey” Greene Bicycle Giveaway. This giveaway is in memory of Marcus “Trey” Greene, who died at age 16 after a lifelong battle with sickle-cell anemia. His parents, Russell & Mary Greene of Madison, participate in charitable events each year in memory of their son and giving back to their community, especially during the Holiday season.

Todd Lord (GM of Athens) and Michael Long (Shipping Manager of Athens) along with Mike Scarborough, Bill Bentley (drivers of our Athens location) and Pattrelle Pattman (Yard Operator of Athens location) coordinated the transportation of over 100 donated bicycles to the Bill Wood Park in Madison. Each bike is donated to a child within the Morgan County community for Christmas.

Other Harbin employees that were a part of sponsoring the giveaway included Chris Moon (CEO), Todd Irvin (GM of Lavonia), Todd Lord (GM of Athens), Terry Smith (Accounts Payable Manager), Jody Page (GM of Eatonton), Ryan Roper (GM of Reload), and Daulton Smith (Shipping Manager of Load Star).

In total, over $13,000 was raised by different organizations throughout Georgia and even outside of Georgia. The amount raised was enough for each bike to have a safety helmet along with it.

We are grateful for our employees that give back to the communities that have helped shaped them into the people they are today! To read more on the full details of the project, visit the link below.
